Cavalier Attitude zine (Volume III, Issue 3)

I am very pleased to announce the release of my forty-fourth supplement and the ninth issue of my Old School zine: Cavalier Attitude, Vol. 3, Issue 3. It is available for purchase right now in PDF format!

The ninth issue’s contents include the following: an article discussing the sensitive issue of player character death from a practical standpoint; with a sample character last will and testament;  the second half of a two-part fantasy fiction short story I wrote entitled “The Trouble Twins"; the Magickal Menagerie is back, featuring new and unique magic items straight from the pages of my published adventures; a set of six pre-generated player characters for us as PCs or NPCs in your campaigns; a brand new OSRIC adventure, "Tower Inverso", for 4-6 player characters of levels 5-7, and the full OSRIC statistics for the for the dreaded sand demi-elemental featured in the "Tower Inverso" adventure; and our standard articles showcasing Old School art and providing synopses for my recently published books.

Cavalier Attitude focuses on the Old School Revival in fantasy role-playing. It will focus on OSRIC, my retro-clone of choice, but it will also cover other Old School games systems. The zine is published quarterly.

SYNOPSIS:

Welcome to the Second issue of the Third Volume of my webzine: Cavalier Attitude. As the masthead says, this zine will focus on the Old School Revival (OSR) in fantasy role-playing. The Oldschool System Reference and Index Compilation™ (OSRIC) is my personal retro-clone of choice, but I will cover other games systems as well, as interest and time permit. The zine is publishing quarterly. The first issue was published in September 2017, this is our seventh issue.

The ninth issue’s contents include the following highlights:

• Ashes to Ashes: Dealing with Player Character Death: an article discussing the sensitive issue of player character death from a practical standpoint; with a sample character last will and testament.
• Bard’s Corner: a feature showcasing fantasy fiction with an RPG theme, by myself and others. In this issue is the final half of a two-part story entitled “The Trouble Twins".
• Magickal Menagerie: new and unique magic items straight from the pages of my published adventures!
• Pre-generated player characters: a set of six pre-generated player character, in our new landscape format, ready to take on whatever your GM’s campaign can dish out.
• An Exclusive OSR adventure, "Tower Inverso": in this new OSRIC adventure your players are trapped deep underground at the bottom of an ancient summoner’s inverted residence, and they’ll have to fight their way up to the surface, and freedom! It is compatible with most FRPGs and is intended for 4-6 characters of levels 5-7.
• Dread Bestiary: the full OSRIC statistics  for the dreaded, evil  sand demi-elemental featured in the "Tower Inverso" adventure for use in your own adventures!
• Old School art: a showcase of art by myself and others which is featured in my published books.
• Market Square: synopses and information on my recently published books.

Future issues will also include fantasy fiction by myself and others; background information and additional areas for adventure for those GM’s setting their campaigns in my ever expanding campaign world; one-page modules and encounters; DM’s tips and rules discussions; miniature painting galleries and guides; interviews with authors and other makers in the RPG community; and much more!
