Cavalier Attitude zine (Volume II, Issue 1)

I am very pleased to announce the release of my nineteenth product, the Third Issue of my Old School fantasy role-playing zine, "CAVALIER ATTITUDE". It is available for purchase right now in PDF format!

In addition to the zine's regular features (articles, art, module synopsis, and social media round-up), this issue features a NEW  exclusive one-page OSR adventure, "SEA HAG'S FOLLY": this  aquatic themed adventure is intended for 4-6 players of levels 2-4.

Cavalier Attitude focuses on the Old School Revival in fantasy role-playing. It will focus on OSRIC, my retro-clone of choice, but it will also cover other Old School games systems. The zine is published quarterly.

The latest and prior issues will also always be available here for regular purchase, so if you missed any you will always be able to purchase back issues.

SYNOPSIS:

Welcome to third issue of my webzine: Cavalier Attitude. As the masthead says, this zine will focus on the Old School Revival (OSR) in fantasy role-playing. The Oldschool System Reference and Index Compilation™ (OSRIC) is my personal retro-clone of choice, but I will cover other games systems as well, as interest and time permit. The zine is publishing quarterly. The first issue was published in September 2017.

The third issue’s contents include the following highlights:

  • An Epic Horde: an article on collecting old RPG materials with one avid collector.
  • Deep Dwarves: an article detailing an evil sub-race of dwarves, driven mad by treasure lust by an evil extra-planar entity, who dwell in the Under-Realm and prize wealth above all else!
  • 6 pre-generated player characters: a group of PCs ready to take on whatever your GM’s campaign can dish out.
  • Adventure: an exclusive one-page OSR adventure, “SEA HAG’S FOLLY”. Can your players take on the aquatic horde that has attacked their seaside village? Designed for 4 to 6 PCs of 2nd to 4th level.
  • Old School art: a showcase of Old School art, by myself and others, which are features in my published books.
  • Market Square: synopses and information on my recently published books.
  • The Inn: a roundup of role-playing social media posts.

  •

Future issues will also include fantasy fiction by myself and others; background information and additional areas for adventure for those GM’s setting their campaigns in my ever expanding campaign world; one-shot and one-page modules and encounters; DM’s tips and rules discussions; miniature painting galleries and guides; interviews with authors and other makers in the RPG community; and much more!
