Knightly Tournaments
Knightly Tournaments is my nineteenth book and my third rules supplement. The three combat scenarios in this book are set throughout the lands of my published campaign, featuring adventures within the nations of Jarlburgh, Alderburgh and Dún Bhriste.
This guide focuses on rules for simulating medieval tournament style mounted combat and melee style combat on foot for use with OSRIC and 1E compatible retro-clones although its rules, which focus on alternating ability checks, are compatible with most fantasy RPGs.
Your players will discovery an exciting new world of pageantry and competition, with an added optional system of "fame points" to earn additional abilities and prowess in the art of tournament combat. So, whether it is chivalrous combat for sport or combat to the death, we hope to have you (the GM) and the brave knights of your campaign quickly into the action with a rules light approach to this style of combat that will have them jousting and sparring in no time!

The pageantry and show of jousting and tournament combat is always a grand spectacle in most medieval campaigns based on our historical past, and this guide aims to help you and your players integrate that style of combat into your games. Whether it is chivalrous combat for sport or combat to the death, we hope to have the GM and the brave knights of their campaign straight into the action with a rules light approach to this style of combat.
