The Draugr That Nicked Yuletide

December 2025: This a winter holiday-themed scenario introduces another of my favourite Yuletide baddies, the dread Draugr, a veritable manifestation of misery bound and determined to ruin the holidays!

SYNOPSIS: “The Draugr was pleased to find the watchfires low and the city gates unguarded, as he and his piscine minions snuck into the village in the dead of the night on Mid-Winter’s Eve. Luckily for the invaders (but unlucky for any ships at sea), the bright beam of the village’s ever-present lighthouse was also out, and whether this was by design or happenstance, it was a boon to the Draugr’s invading army. For this darkness, combined with the thick blanket of recently fallen snow, shrouded all of Howlville in an eerie and unsettling silence, masking the invaders’ footfalls as they slunk around town, entering each home to pilfer their presents and steal their Yuletide joy!

A Fowl Affair

November 2025: An autumn holiday-themed scenario where the players will be called upon to rescue a local healer who has been kidnapped by a scaly devil and his dire gobblers, vicious mutant turkeys!

SYNOPSIS: “A crisp autumn day finds you enjoying some down time in the small, peaceful village of Edorn, which rests deep within the primordial forests of the nation of Alderburgh. Suddenly, the door flies open, letting in a cold wind and a bedraggled youth of no more than 15 summers, who collapses to the floor while calling out for help. As folk rush to his aid, you hear someone nearby gasp and state, “Why, it’s the Franklin boy!” After huddled whispering from those surrounding the lad, a dour woman with a prominent badge rises and addresses the crowd. She says, “Folks, the Franklin farm was attacked by a devilish creature that turned their flock into giant, vicious beasties, and then kidnapped poor Morwena. He’s taken her to the Illr Gröf and we need folk to get her back!” No one stands to volunteer, and the crowd looks terrified.

Will you step up and come to the aid of these frightened folk, heroes?!

Sunken Halls of the Demi-Lich

September 2025: A challenging, high-level scenario where veteran players can test their mettle against one of the most dangerous undead foes, the demi-lich!

SYNOPSIS: You are enjoying some down time at the Golden Harp Inn, in the seaside village of Dùn Mara in the nation of Dùn Bhriste. You’ve just been treated to a rather stirring tale by the skald-in-residence, one Justin Rakes, who sang of the doomed archmage Dimarius, who tried and failed to gain immortality. It comes as somewhat of a surprise when Justin approaches you after his show, and asks to speak with you. He tells you he pegged you as heroes from your gear and demeanor, and he chose to sing the “Ballad of Dimarius” because he has a proposition for you. He tells you Dimarius’ tale is real, that the demi-lich still lives, and he knows the location of his tomb! Here is his pitch: Justin will give you his information and a magic sword, but he gets the exclusive artistic rights to record the tale of your taking on the demi-lich. Are you ready at your own shot at immortality, being preserved in prose for all time for, ironically, taking down a deathless demi-lich?

The Vale of Shadows: BILGO'S BURROW

August 2025:A mid-level scenario which concludes my Vale of Shadows series, this module has players devling into the tomb of the legendary halfling hero Bilgo Starchaser, who is rumoured to have traveled among the stars!

SYNOPSIS: As you prepare to stop for the evening at a well-used camp site, you discover a young halfling woman has already taken the spot. She introduces herself as Tralene Snowybrow of The Dales, and cordially invites you to share her fire. Over a hearty meal and fine ale, she tells you she is a historian and linguist conducting research into a halfling hero of legend named Bilgo Starchaser, who she believes to be a long lost ancestor. She came to this region following clues left by her dearly departed great-uncle. As luck would have it, she met a peddler named Roscoe Skelton who claimed to know the location of old Bilgo’s final resting place. He sold her a map to a hidden valley, he called it the Vale of Shadows, where he claimed the tomb lays. Seeing your meeting as providential, she asks you to join her quest, promising treasures and a chance to make Terrans’ history! Will you help solve the ancient mystery of Bilgo’s Burrow?

The Vale of Shadows: RIDDLE HÖLL

July 2025: A mid-level scenario which is the second book in my Vale of Shadows series, this module has players investigating the forgotten tomb of a Northfolk shieldmaiden!

SYNOPSIS: While setting up camp after a long day of travel, your chores are interrupted by a young woman breaking through the underbrush, calling for help. Rushing to her side, you see she is badly wounded and in shock. She winces in pain, as she explains that she and her friends are in desperate need of aid. They were exploring a nearby tomb known as Riddle Höll, the final resting place of a great Northfolk warrior. Unfortunately, they overestimated their abilities and her friends all met a cruel fate in the tomb. Marshalling her last bit of strength, she begs you to rescue her friends or at least retrieve their bodies. Will you test your mettle against the unknown dangers of Riddle Höll?

June 2025: A mid-level scenario which introduces a new adventure locale, the long-lost region known as the Vale of Shadows: an ancient burial ground which houses the tombs of several infamous and august personages!

SYNOPSIS: In search of adventure, you meet a strange man who offers to sell you a map to a forgotten tomb. The peddler claims the map shows the way to a long lost valley, known as The Vale of Shadows. He tells you there are several unplundered tombs in the vale, including one of a powerful ancient warlord; a cold and calculating killer who terrorized the region eons ago, buried in a forgotten tomb known as The Malachite Halls. Great treasure awaits those brave enough to enter the warlord’s crypt!

The Tower of Aetus

May 2025: An introductory level scenario wherein the neophyte heroes are tasked with exploring a mysterious tower just outside their village !

SYNOPSIS: You are an aspiring adventurer, eager to take your place among the greatest heroes on Terrans. Your chance comes today, when Lady Fortuna smiles upon you, and adventure lands right at your feet. It comes in the form of the local druid Gwendolyn, who you discover laying collapsed and bloody on the floor, muttering about a robbery. Weak from blood loss, Gwen grabs your shirtfront and whispers in your ear, “I am begging you, follow Rustigen to the tower, deal with him and get me back my tome.” Will you accept her quest and bring this cur to justice?

The Quarry Quandry

April 2025: A hihg-level adventure where players must aid a small mining town on the edge of the wilderness, under threat from a Chaotic army led by an ettin mystic!

SYNOPSIS: While traveling through the mountains of Jarlburgh, you come across the small mining village of Námibær. While it sits on the edge of the wilderness, the nearby Loptsteinn Mine, dug beneath an ancient stone quarry, has brought the village prosperity, producing rich veins of precious metals, deposits of gemstones and rare porphyry, an igneous rock prized for its rouge-hue and resilience. Recently, however, the quarry has become a curse, as discovery of a meteoric deposit of cold iron drew the attention of Chaotic forces. Determined to claim the rare magical ore, an ettin mystic, the self-styled Umberto the Intimidating, has seized the quarry, slaughtering the miners and raising them as undead thralls. The desperate villagers ask for your help. Will you free the quarry and end the miners’ suffering?

Big Trouble at The Bear's Lair

March 2025: a mid-level, dungeon crawl wherein players take on a small army led by a pair of arrogant ogres!

SYNOPSIS:The pastoral village of Baile nam Muc, which sit in the forested foothills of Dùn Bhriste, has had its peace shattered recently, courtesy of a pair of ogres and their Chaotic minions, who have recently taken over a grizzly bear’s den in the nearby foothills, and are causing no end of trouble in the region. Now, after months of getting away with sowing discord, the ogres have grown cocky. They decided it was time to make war closer to home, and have begun staging brazen and bloody attacks on famers and merchants headed into the village. Stumbling upon the village, only a day after one of the most brutal attacks, you have been recognized by the authorities as adventuring heroes, and asked to help. Will you agree to challenge the Chaotic forces and end the trouble at old bear’s lair?

Porcine Problems

February 2025: The return of our Cavaliar Attitude zine, presented in both A4/tablet format and the mini-zine format, an 8-page DIY booklet!

SYNOPSIS: In this scenario, the players find themselves traveling the roads east of Dùn Bhriste, heading towards the small village of Baile nam Muc, eager to sample its renowned “Porkfest”, an annual cookout featuring the town’s prized pigs. However, adventure finds the players, in the form of black smoke drifting off a lone promontory known as Misty Hill. Investigating further, the players come upon the aftermath of a terrible battle upon the hillock, and are quested by the sole survivor of the attacks, a young girl named Esmeralda, to save her kidnapped father and their mounts from the monstrous attackers. Following the foe's tracks into the nearby wood, the players will have to take on a cadre of wild boars led by a porcine were-beast who, angry at the treatment of their kind by local farmers, attacked Esme's band of travelling peddlers, bent on revenge against humankind!
