News: The Return of Krampus

December 2018: It's the holiday season once again, and our old friend Krampus is back to to his old tricks in 2018! I'm happy to announce the release of my thirty-second OSR book, SO12 RETURN OF KRAMPUS! It is available now as a PDF. This book is a scary, holiday themed one-shot adventure intended for a group of 4-6 players of levels 4th to 6th level. It is my twelfth one-shot adventure and the fourth adventure to take place in the newly introduce expansion area of The Dales, the ancestral home of the halflings, gnomes and dwarves in my campaign world!

This adventure takes place in and around Kharn Deepcrag, a dwarven community located in a mountain fastness in the southern area of The Dales. The excitement begins when your players are asked to investigate an attack on a dwarven community. The foes attacked under cover of darkness and made off with some with priceless treasures: the dwarves' bairns and a sacred relic, the Hammer of Klan’garadrum.

The dwarves task your players with finding the dwarven children taken captive by the demonic Krampus, defeating the fiend and his evil deep dwarf minions, and finding the sacred dwarven hammer which they stole; all before the sun rises and the children and the sacred hammer are taken down to the Hells, never to be seen again!.

News: Cavalier Attitude, Vol. II, Issue 4

December 2018: I am really pleased to announce the release of my thirty-first book and the sixth issue of my Old School zine: Cavalier Attitude, Vol. 2, Issue 4. It is available for purchase right now in PDF format!

• Out of Alignment: an article on player character alignment changes and how to handle them.
• Bard’s Corner: a new feature being introduced in this issue, which will showcase fantasy fiction with an RPG theme, by myself and others. The first story is “Death Comes to Blackrock."
• Magickal Menagerie: a new feature being introduced in this issue, which provides new and unique magic items for your players, straight from the pages of my published adventures!
• Pre-generated player character: a special pre-generated player character ready to take on whatever your GM’s campaign can dish out.

News: Krampus for OSR

DECEMBER 2018: I am very excited to announce the release of my thirtieth book, and my first "monster supplement", SM1 KRAMPUS FOR OSR. It is available for purchase right now in PDF format!

This supplement contains a full monster listing (a la the Monster Manual) for Krampus, which should be compatible with most OSR retro-clones. I believed many GMs running OSR games would enjoy having a ready-made OSR version of Krampus to drop into their own campaigns at the holidays, especially the many of you who do not like to run pre-made scenarios, so I decided to release this version of the beast for your use and enjoyment!

This version of Krampus is easily modified to challenge players of any level by merely adjusting his hit dice and hit points. This book features a full OSR statistical listing and description for Krampus, along with historical background information and illustrations of the beastie.

News: Mad Madrigan's Maze

NOVEMBER 2018: I am truly pleased to announce the release of my twenty-ninth book, and my eleventh one-shot adventure, the module  SO11 MAD MADRIGAN'S MAZE. It is currently available for purchase now in PDF format!

In this one-shot module your players face their imminent demise, trapped in a mad gnome illusionist’s maze! Lured to the maze by a treasure map and rumours of great fortunes and powerful magick, the players soon become prisoners in Mad Madrigan’s underground maze.

The entire dungeon is on lock-down: the only known exit cannot be reopened and the entire place has been ensorcelled so teleportation, æthereal and dimensional spells all fizzle out and fail. The only way the players are getting out is by finding the exit the old fashioned way, dungeon delving!

Intended for 4 - 6 player characters of levels 4 to 6, this adventure will test whether or not your players can best the beasts and puzzles of Mad Madrigan’s Maze,

News: The Pumpkin Man

OCTOBER 31, 2018: In honour of Halloween and Samhain I'm proud to announce the release of my 29th OSR module a day early! SO10 THE PUMPKIN MAN is available now! This book is a spooky holiday themed one-shot adventure intended for a group of 4-6 players of levels 4th to 6th level. It is my tenth one-shot adventure and the second adventure to take place in the newly introduce expansion area of The Dales, the ancestral home of the halflings, gnomes and dwarves in my campaign world!

It's a dark & stormy night, & your party seeks refuge at venerable Foggybottom Manor. All is not as it seems, however, & you find yourself involved in a quest to rescue your hosts' kidnapped children from the clutches of an ancient Fae creature known as The Pumpkin Man!

It was written such that the GM begins to tell the players a scary story that then morphs into an interactive spooky story told by the GM & players! It takes places in a graveyard that's actually in the land of Faerie! It doesn't really get better than that on Halloween!

News: Down the Wishing Well

OCTOBER 2018: I am really pleased to announce the release of my twenty-seventh book and my ninth one-shot adventure: SO9 Down The Wishing Well. It was written as a One-On-One adventure for one GM and one player (with a pre-generated halfling hero included), but it is easily adaptable to a accommodate a party of 4-6 players of levels 1 to 2. It is available for purchase right now in PDF format!

I wrote this adventure to commemorate my 50th birthday and, while not as auspicious as a 111st birthday, I felt my half century mark deserved a celebratory dungeon crawl featuring some of my favourite elements of the fantasy role-playing genre! Here, in this adventure, you will find a plucky little hero, a village in the grip of a cruel overlord, puzzles and traps, scary beasties, magical wishes, and dreams coming true!

Your player feels an unnaturally strong desire to climb down the Old Well just outside the village on their birthday, which was a rite of passage a long time ago, not knowing they are in for more than you bargained for as it is the goddess Brigid calling them...DOWN THE WISHING WELL!

AUGUST 2018: I am very excited to announce the long anticipated release of Starry Knight Press' twenty-fifth book, which also includes our first illustration booklet, the epic dungeon crawling megamodule "THE MINS OF MAYHEM". Our twenty-fifth module is an homage to the adventures of yore: in this 110-page tome your players will be squaring off against pig-faced orcs in a dwarven mine, invading an ancient crypt complex, and then battling the forces of a hidden UNDER-REALM city full of evil denizens. Old School gaming really doesn't get much better than this! There are also additional side quests thrown in to keep the party active and engaged!!

In THE MINES OF MAYHEM your players are going to be tasked with discovering what tragedy has transpired at the DWARFHOME MINES, where unknown marauders have attacked the miners, and shut down mine operations. The dwarves recently dug so deep they intruded into hidden UNDER-REALM city of ROCKHOME. While neither side was aware of the other, both prospered. Now, however, a war has begun and your party is thrust onto the front lines in the confrontation between the surface-dwelling forces of the Light and the Under-Realm forces of evil! Are they up to the challenge?

An integral feature of this adventure is the included ILLUSTRATION BOOKLET, which contains 32 illustrations showcasing various encounters in the module, so the GM can show their players what their characters are seeing at appropriate moments, to aid in immersion. Players can see exactly what their characters are seeing!

As with all of my OSR adventures, inside you will find great Old-school fantasy art; detailed blue and white dungeon maps; classic hex overland maps of the adventure environs; new magical items, new magical spells and new monsters to challenge you and your players!!

News: Amazing Journeys

JULY 2018: I am pleased to announce the release of Starry Knight Press' twenty-third book, which is also our second compilation module, the book "AMAZING JOURNEYS". It offers FOUR ADVENTURES for one low price! It is CURRENTLY available for purchase right now in PDF format!

Our second megamodule is a gateway to adventure: in this 76-page tome you will find four exciting modules to challenge you and your players. Your group is going to be introduced to a variety of challenges, in a number of settings, requiring several different skill sets. There are battles for sure, but there are also puzzles, traps and thinking problems!

In Krampusnacht your party will be called upon to rescue a group of elven children abducted by a demonic fiend and recover the tribe’s Alfspark before the sun rises. In The Bloody Barrow your players will be called on to rescue a foolish young sage who has wandered into an ancient vampire court’s barrow mound. Your players will be asked to rescue a militia guard unit which has gone missing while investigating strange goings on in the mountains in Shrine of the Titans. Lastly, in Sea Hag’s Folly the party must investigate a sunken ship, defend a fishing village from invasion by a force of angry aquatic humanoids, and then rescue some villagers captured by the evil sea hag responsible for all this trouble!

These modules are set within all four of the nations of the author's published campaign world: Alderburgh, Dùn Bhriste, Jarlburgh, and The Red Eagle Barony. This book provides excellent background information for those GM's setting their games within this campaign world, and it includes four detailed overland maps in the Old School style, new monsters and new magic items and 18 pre-generated characters for you and your players to enjoy in many gaming sessions!

News: Sea Hag's Folly

MAY 2018: I am super excited to to announce the release of Starry Knight Press' twenty-first book, which is also my eighth ONE-SHOT module, entitled "SEA HAG'S FOLLY". It is CURRENTLY available for purchase right now in PDF format!

In this adventure the players are tasked with aiding the citizens of Inverdale, a peaceful fishing village that has come under attack from sahuagin, lizard men and crabmen, acting under orders from a sea hag they refer to as "The Mistress". Your party of heroes is asked to investigate the wreck of the Ēostre, determine the cause of these attacks, and save the village before it is overrun by invaders?

This 28 page adventure, intended for 4-6 PCs of Levels 2-4, takes place in three different locales above and below the water! It offers THREE 3-4 hour sessions, for a TOTAL PLAY TIME of 9-12 hours. It is sure to please discerning GMs and players everywhere!

News: Knightly Tournaments

APRIL 2018: I am very proud to announce a milestone for Starry Knight Press the release of my TWENTIETH book, which is my third rules supplement, "KNIGHTLY TOURNAMENTS". It is CURRENTLY available for purchase right now in PDF format!

This guide focuses on rules for simulating medieval tournament style mounted and un-mounted combat for use with OSRIC and 1E compatible retro-clones although its rules, which focus on alternating ability checks, are compatible with most fantasy RPGs.

This supplement also has three different tournament scenarios, so your players will be strapped to a warhorse and hammering down a list at their opponent or charging into a tournament mêlée in little to no time! They are written to be flexible and may be used with any level.

News: The S-Series Bundle

JANUARY 2018: I am very happy to tell you about a new product I've released, my first of 2018! It's a combo product called the SUP Bundle.  It is available for purchase now in PDF format from me and my online partners!

The SUP Bundle gathers together the first THREE SUPPLEMENTS (thus the SUP title) in my "S-series", which focuses on my HARQUEBUSIER story line: S1, S2 and S3. This set will take your characters from Zero Level, through their Harquebusier training, and beyond! This bundle gathers together all three Supplements titles for one low price!

There are three more supplements coming in the "S-series" with the next due in Fall 2018: The Mines of Mayhem!

AUGUST 2020 UPDATE: With the release of the next module in the Harquebusier Series (aka S-Series), S4 The Mines of Mayhem, this bundle was updated and renamed the S-Series Bundle!
